first year in uni

my first year in NTU... hectic. rushing everytime and no time to really take a break. almost every weekends study with buddies. every tutorial i will try to complete, or at least attempt to do it. lab is killer, don't really know wat to expect. end of year 1, tired... but satisfied coz i got the grades i wanted. really feel good that time.

second year in NTU... more busy. more labs. but i think i really coped well. the labs were killing me in year 2, tutorial... got time do no time skip. im glad i have frens ard me that we help each other. though results dropped a little, i just felt good. DDP was something i will always remember... the stupid micromouse that we did. but seeing the mouse move and follow the line is so satisfying...

third year in NTU... abit short becoz of IA. really enjoyed the times i had at PwC. the pple over there really treat me well. though there are still some freaks out there working ard u. but overall, my department are really nice pple. u can nv have 2 hour lunch break at other place de lor.

start of my fourth year... realised that some frens around me no longer take the same core modules as i am, see them lesser also. realised some frens are no longer the type that says "come on lets chiong together". they slack off, dun put in as much effort in group assignments. i felt abit dulan bout how irresponsible pple are when they just wanna slack off. Im not saying all are like that... but thats the general feel i get now. i eat alone mostly for lunch n dinners, study alone, and sometimes attend lectures alone. not a veri good feeling.. but i think i will get used to it...

really wanna get over and done with assignments and exams. i noe pple often complain bout how working life sucks, but im really not enjoying uni life. aiya the grass is always greener on the other side ma... wait till i work u will see my blog full of complains bout overloaded work...

after getting my ippt silver, im unfit again. my last 2.4 run was the ippt in september. i know saying no time to train and run is juz an excuse... aiya juz not determined enough la.

FYP is driving me crazy. year 4 is super boring super sianz. no more new frens coming into my life.. i find myself having lesser n lesser frens. frens that i care about, frens that care about me. what to do? i also dunno... if only i am in school with all my buddies =)

I seriously cant wait for my uni life to be over la... what are school holidays when u need to work for FYP during these periods. the stupid FYP making my last year so miserable. only the 3rd week of school... im stress liao la. i dunno what to expect nx semester lor... im working so hard becoz of the second upper class which is about to drop to second lower.

this is the 20th week of my IA. just submitted my final report and also the log book. finally ah.. spent so much time doing the last min changes. i noe its not a veri well done report, but still im hoping to get an A for this attachment. 2 more weeks to go and i will be having my holiday. im looking forward to the end of IA. not that i dun like the work environment, just that i dun have much frens over there. i am like the quiet guai guai type over there. mayb its my own problem la.. communication skills not good enuff.

confidence level has been quite low recently. mayb im thinking too much and together with the stress of the final report. im juz glad that the report is completed.

Rundown from Jurong West to Bukit Panjang... took me quite long though. not used to running so long... was running too slowly le la... but still its nice running this far.

1 more mth to the end of Internship. freedom back on 5th june. seriously the people there are more or less ok. except for some, i really dun like talking to. there is a temp guy over there that i cannot stand. his attitude, his backstabbing. i dun understand y temp staff also backstab others. he likes to gossip about others bad though not me and surely cant be infront of me. arrogant little ass.. a future laywer... wth... clever but with fucked character.

I'm looking forward to the taiwan trip. yes.. taiwan again and its 1 day after my internship from 6th june to 14th june. but this time with different friends and to taichung and kaohsiung. after this, needa save money lo. wanna go on a sweet holiday with pig though. after that will be trip to either Japan or the Old Trafford! yes.. to OLD TRAFFORD.

blood suckers starhub once again raised the price on cable TV. damn pissed... they juz took off all the value packages and making the all time fav package to a a-la-carte. damn... becoz of that, my sis gonna cancel off some of the channels already... though its a few dollars extra after having the discount for a few months, its enuff to make my sis unhappy.

with the champions league taken off the sports group starting from nx season, im gonna cancel off the sports channel nx season too...

pissed... now YOU lose a unhappy customer. think im gonna change the internet from starhub to singtel too.

its work again, and i finally noe how good it is to be in school. studying at ur own time, have lunch wif frens. chit chat wif frens eventhough theres alot of work to be done. hahaz... im starting to miss school. but i noe this is the working society. no choice if u wan to earn a living.

2 weeks and i already know arga arga the politics in my department... hopefully i wun get involved in any of these politics. i juz wan to pass this 6 mths peacefully.

its hard to get a job now. so if u got a job but u are thinking of changing.. mayb its not a veri good time. juz hang onto this job for the time being. mayb when the economy gets better, then lookout for another job. mayb 1 or 2 more years? its best if u are working for the government... tie fan wan like the army.

i juz hope frens, relatives and my families will have a great chinese new year and go thru this hard period together...

pushed my way and finally got interview for company X. if u wanna noe which company juz ask me ba... then i got accepted... but then when the contract was sent to my place, i see the allowance given... sianz 1/2. the allowance was no where near 1k. for such a big company... haiz... mayb they give the amount depending on the quality that u have... so im juz worth that much. damn... im still gonna work at this company la, coz i still think its good to start off with a big company...

went down to wala wala last sat. my first time there and the band is really nice. funny at times. The Unexpected playing at wala wala on thurs and sat nitez. i really liked it.. but some of the songs im still not familiar with. should be going back again... =)

time to update my dusty blog lo... been busy settling IA stuff and projects. veri disappointed with my IA since i didnt get my first choice. not even shortlisted for interview. since i had chosen 9 companies. so if i didn't get the first one then i will be considered for the 2nd and so on. but only the 1st company that we choose can be a interviewing company... meaning the interviewing company most probably paying 1k while the 2nd to 9th choice standard 600.

then i tried to source for other companies that will pay good at least, but kana rejected by the school... sianz... but at least i tried... well now i shall wait for the other choices.

my home furnitures are here... the new sofa and the new washing machines are here... the L-shaped sofa made my living room abit more spacious la... and also my new 8gb ipod touch. yay... new replacement for my mp3 lo.

economy going down but like spent even more money lor... haiz... need a high paying job la... stupid school for blocking my interview. time to sleep le la...

time to update my blog... its been a really busy week for me since last wed. my IA registration started on thursday last week but i didn't have time to look at the different companies. was working at the comex show 2008 from thursday to sunday and can only decide the IA companies on monday. IA registration, comex and lagging in my studies... finally the IA registration is done and comex over. now its time to juz concentrate on my work. there is alot of work to be done since i have missed like 1 week of lectures.

Comex 2008 is here. and im working in this fair for 4 days. hopefully i can be the top sales! scare i will lose my voice again. shall be a veri tiring 4 days. but for the cash i will go for it!

its really quite slack for me this sem compared to previous sem. waking up late, 4 days week, no need to do tutorial... total of 10 labs only. hopefully i can make good use of the extra time... =)

im back in singapore! went to taipei for one week. its really fun thou we didn't visit alot of place and didn't go round the whole of taiwan... budget la.. haha... i will surely go back taiwan again de. went to Mr J restaurant, 渔人码头，士林夜市，西门町，淡水老街，holiday ktv, luxy 夜店。。。还有很多。

i wish i can spend more over there. their shirts are quite different from those u see in sg. more colourful and younger... but they are not that cheap also. overall it was really a nice trip. relaxing and fun... worried too much b4 we went taiwan coz of the typhoon. heng we continued as planned. the weather was really good for the whole of one week. din even rain for that week we went...

see the picture on top? its actually a turtle wearing a yellow helmet. this is a poster at site that encourages workers to put on their helmet. its actually an article on the newspaper la. juz wanna say somethings bout it. the first time i see it, i feel its quite cute la.. is like saying eventhough the turtle has a protective shell, they also muz wear helmet to protect it when they are at the site. its kind of creative and cute man...

apparently the china workers are protesting about this poster. they say that its trying to say they are the turtles and they feel like being called 乌龟王八. so funny lor... i dun understand how they can relate the poster to them being scolded 乌龟王八. they say if they are being scolded over in china, they will put up a fight. haiz... i noe its not easy working overseas, but come on la... juz work and earn ur money la. u want complain bout the place, complain bout the food. but the fucking poster got nothing wrong wat. this is singapore leh... needa be more open over here la.

the pc show 2008 over the last 4 days was damn tiring for me. stand all the way and talk until no voice. but its really good earnings. seldom i see a group of sales pple so aggressive... all hungry for the money. and when u are together with this group of pple, u do the same. sometimes all become siao siao. ya... and the bonus for this company is really a motivation. the bonus for each day is like up to 300 bucks la... too bad throughout the 4 days, i only get 80 bucks for the bonus. really difficult to get the top sales. so many pple fighting for it.

the race between sales pple is really the best drive for u.... we have this whiteboard at the booth that will state who are the top sales pple. and theres race to 3, race to 7 and race to 10. all race will have 20 bucks bonus if u get it. it actually encourage us to sell fast, push faster. and then not only the race bonus, we have bonus for the break of the day, the top sales, individual targets... its really veri motivating. the way this company build the team spirit is good la... acer sales staff ask me why we so on? haha... i think its the drive for money and bonuses.

4 days 1k... ya not bad rite. compared to others selling laptops, we earn like 3 times of their top sales. and im not even close to the top sales pple... hope the power saver that im selling now really works. if not i will feel abit guilty...

wanted to go watch some movies or go window shopping today de. but instead stay at sheena's place for the whole day. there was no nice movies. made of honour dun have the timing that we want, and we spent the whole evening combing lala's furry hair. anyway lala is a dog. her new pet. kinda cute... but smelly coz she cannot bath due to flu. sick after 3 days bringing home. then hospitalised for like 5 days. hopefully it gets better soon. i dun like lazy dogs la haha...

had another gathering with the nanhua guys after the BBQ at west coast. should feel happy enough to have this group of friends with me. really enjoyed the long chat where we talked about our primary and secondary school days. i juz feel relaxed with them.

my circle of friends is getting smaller. somehow feeling abit lonely? have been thinking of this problem for quite a long time. its hard to have really good friends in uni. those that i chat with on msn are also the usual few ones.

im tired, it looks like the school of computer engineering has never ending lab reports, labs, programming (i hate most)... theres no fun from the day i step into the school of engineering. and i think there will never be any fun. gosh... day by day, 3 semester passed, come into yr2 sem2, not like anything u have experienced before. im so stressed... frens getting lesser and lesser. no time to enjoy weekends. i just hate my life la. y cant i just have like a 3 days week, then relax and complete my uni life just like fucking business students (sorry to frens studying in business). 3 days week i can spend 2 days doing my work, 2 days play game. i really think u can complete a business degree in 2 yrs instead of 3 if they have timetables like ours.

found a laptop at canteen 2. was having lunch over there and a girl sitting beside me forgot to take her lappy when she left. when u eat full full, dun shut off ur brain and juz walk off la. wanna sleep oso muz take all ur belongings before going back home ma. then waited over there for like 5 mins wif my fren, then we decided to take the laptop la. walking towards the busstop and saw the girl walking back. fucking blur gal la... heng i saw her. so in the end returned the laptop to her. if i didn't see her, the laptop i will sell off lor. laptop so big oso can forget... must be fucking shag la...

still remember in secondary school, after the last paper of the exam, we would rush to the basketball court. just thinking what i want to do after my last paper which is on the 30th nov. there is no one to play bball with me after school now. just like to think of how fun it is in secondary school. no worries. fail fail lor since there are still alot of chance. but now, im at the last stage of my so called 'studying career'. cannot afford to do badly, its a promise to myself. how i hope time can turn back. i miss my bball team, miss my secondary sch frens, miss the classroom, the basketball court, everything. going to school back then is a joy, now its a nuisance. if only i bring bball to school everyday instead of notes, and play bball after school everyday instead of rushing lab reports.

was telling my mum juz now that i feel very tired of studying. she always never give me pressureto do well. she tells me to take it easy have a good rest. then i asked my sis how was her uni life, and she said she slack thru it, thou her results are not very good. she tells me that my results so good i should be happy. but i just don't know why im not feeling a little happy at all now. its not the exams, but thinking back so much effort engineering students put in, they don't always get good grades. and there are no incentives if u really do well. in engineering course, no matter how hard u try, u can never beat the foreigners(from china and india).

jay's album is finally out! heard that there's a delay in the release in singapore. but then anyway, i downloaded the songs already =) im listening it now. some songs are quite different from his previous album. i like the songs 我不配 and 彩虹. his concert next year really burnt a big hole in my pocket. but since i didn't go for his previous concert i dun really mind.

its the time to study for the exams again. im really looking forward for the 1 month break after exams. was hoping that there will be a chalet for nanhuarians, but then it seems like all the slots for the sentosa chalet are fully booked. too bad, we decided a little bit too late. no chalet but im sure there will be a gathering to sentosa beaches again.

its a super sunday! its my cousin's wedding today. and i was fully involved, from morning till midnight. woke up at 7 plus in the morning, then went down to my cousin's place. it was really tiring since i din get enuff sleep... but once i reach there i was full of energy again. first we went to the hotel to pick up the bride, then took alot of pictures in the hotel and went to upper pierce to take photos. bride super beautiful, groom veri handsome. =) then went back to my cousin's place for the traditional tea ceremony. i was really eventful in the morning...

still got the wedding dinner where we took alot of photos, so funny pics.

think i should update some pics from the world book fair 2007 some other day. met alot of pple.. nice aunties, fucked up lao aunties, doctor uncle, top sales uncle, and some really funny frens. i met clarence and joseph at the book fair and together wif jiahui, 4 of us really had alot of laughter. we got alot of things to talk about especially talking obut the sales staff over there. haha... paid $7/hr to slack and talk cock, plus abit of sai kang to do... totally worth it! somemore the welfare is good. buffet dinner provided, boss is a nice person. a veri fatherly look. somemore a manager that is veri easy going. wah... i juz hope every other job i do can be like this one. read newspaper, readers digest, newsweek. lol... such job doesn't come so easy... somemore still got auntie and uncle to tell u their stories and experience. i really enjoyed this job... a job that allows me to talk cock most of the time... plus the children song that we listen everyday. its really funny..! =)

back from genting a few days liaoz... finally quite free to blog and upload the pics. had a really great time in genting and KL, i enjoyed myself at the casino too, though din win any money, but i guess we all had alot of fun cheering at the jackpot. we shouted quite loudly eventhough we only won 2 credits, which was like 20 cents in SGD. haha... we keep on shouting MEGA MEGA, and thought of hitting the progressive jackpot, ard 1.4 million RM. ya.. dream on la.. haha.. where got so easy. but i think cath was really heng playing wif the jackpot. oh ya, not forgetting the 'hit and run' tactic that me and jeremy used when playing the Big Small.

we got a new champion! hail man u! haha... thanx ah arsenal. but arsenal played really lousy... they got their goal thru a penalty together wif a man down for chelsea. but in the second half chelsea attacked and attacked. i tot chelsea home lor... nvm.. everything is over. now lets look forward to the FA cup final! hope man u kicked their asses.

had dim sum yesterday at chinatown point together wif weihan, elsie, jeremy, cath and another guy. forget his name liaoz, cath's to be bf. the dim sum was not bad. quite nice... and we got 50% off thanx to weihan's voucher. really quite full after eating the ipoh hor fan wif weihan. after that continue to eat the dim sum. then super full liaoz..

sis came back from thailand juz now, but she din get me anything... kns.
today is the end of my 2 day school holiday le. haha... tmr got to go back to sch for special sem. special sem for special pple... haiz
